What are GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1s (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists) are a class of prescription medications originally developed for type 2 diabetes that also support meaningful weight loss. They work by helping regulate appetite and blood sugar, so you feel full sooner and stay satisfied longer. In clinical trials, people taking GLP-1 medications alongside diet and lifestyle changes lost significantly more weight on average than those making lifestyle changes alone. Individual results vary.

Do I need insurance?

No. Fit & Fab Again is built for people whose insurance doesn't cover GLP-1s — or who don't want to deal with insurance at all. You pay a transparent cash price with no insurance paperwork, no prior authorizations, and no surprise bills. Where medically indicated, we can provide a letter of medical necessity to assist with FSA/HRA account reimbursements.

How does the process work?

Three steps: complete a short online health questionnaire, have it reviewed by our licensed provider (with a telehealth visit when appropriate), and — if a GLP-1 is right for you — your medication ships directly to your door. Your provider follows up with you regularly to adjust your dose and answer questions.

Is this medication safe?

GLP-1 medications are generally well tolerated, but like all prescription medications they have side effects and aren't right for everyone. The most common side effects are nausea and other digestive symptoms, especially when starting or increasing a dose. There are also serious warnings, including a risk of thyroid C-cell tumors observed in rodent studies — which is why we screen carefully for personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma and MEN 2. Please read our Safety page, and review everything with our provider before starting.

Who should not take a GLP-1?

You should not take tirzepatide-class medications if you or a family member have had medullary thyroid carcinoma or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2), if you've had a serious allergic reaction to a GLP-1, or if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning pregnancy. A history of pancreatitis, certain eye conditions, and some other medical issues also require careful discussion. Our questionnaire and provider review are designed to catch these — please answer honestly. It's how we keep you safe.

What is compounded medication, and why do you use it?

Compounded medications are prepared by state-licensed pharmacies to meet an individual patient's needs as determined by their provider — for example, when a patient needs a customized dose or form that isn't commercially available for them. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, though the pharmacies that prepare them are licensed and regulated. Whether a compounded medication is appropriate for you is a clinical decision your provider makes with you, based on your specific situation.

How do the telehealth visits work?

After you complete the questionnaire, our provider reviews your answers personally. When a visit is appropriate — and in most cases it is — we'll schedule a video or phone appointment so the provider can talk with you, answer questions, and confirm a GLP-1 is a safe, sensible choice for you. Follow-ups happen the same way, on a schedule that fits your treatment.

How quickly will I see results?

Everyone is different. GLP-1 doses are started low and increased gradually over several weeks to minimize side effects, and most people notice appetite changes early on. Meaningful weight change typically develops over months, not days. Your provider will track your progress with you and adjust your plan as needed. We won't promise you a number — anyone who does isn't being straight with you.
